Private Water Does not end at the waters edge. It ends at the top of the hill surrounding the lake, so what you do and even what you plant can affect the water quality in your pond or lake.

Tap a tree. it is easy and it is fun. kid's love it. All you need is a a drill and and straw to see spring is on it's way. This is a simple way we did it. There are some great uses for maple water, maple rice, maple syrup, maple candy to name a few.

The thing that stands out to me most of all, as a passionate pond guy, was how we could go into one pasture and see a pristine, beautiful, clear pond with a few trees around it and then go less than a quarter-mile and see a pond the same color as chocolate milk with an orange tint. There were some ponds on that property that I swear looked exactly like the barren red dirt that surrounded it.
